Months ago, a very blurry image, seen to the right, was released to the internet and many voices started to speculate on who, exactly the dice represented. We've now pretty definitively identified them, seen the actual dice, as well, but one of them has given me some pause: second row, fourth column. I glanced at it earlier - 'oh, that's Emma Frost' I said to myself - but the more I looked at it the more I realized that the shape of the picture on that die was nothing at all like what we'd seen for Emma.
I'm not even going to pretend this is definitive, but I'm going to point out what I've seen and perhaps, just maybe, we can expect Sue Storm. I'm definitely biased; my annoyance at Sue not being a part of Avengers vs. X-Men set has been well documented, but see the pictures up close, under the cut, and you tell me.
So, bright and shiny, in the center image, we have a crisp copy of Emma Frost. If you compare her to the image on the right (a disgustingly blurry version from a different promotional material) you can definitely see the sort of triangular dimensions that are suggestive of the diamond from Emma's dice art. However, if you go and compare that to the blurry image on the left, you'll see a circle, not a triangle, and with heavy lines straight through the center, not even lines at equal distances across.

The picture almost has an appearance of the Vitruvian Man, a person with arms spread in a bubble. Sue, whose most famous power is definitely being the Invisible Woman, is also well known for her bubble forcefields. White and Blue are also colors of the Fantastic Four, and in the AvX set her husband, Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic was rendered white on blue.
Nathaniel Baker said that we might see the Fantasticar as an Action, but I haven't found a source for that, could Sue and the Fantasticar be the two remaining dice that we haven't seen yet?
Only time will tell, but if that die is Sue Storm, you read it here first!
It really looks like Sue. Nice find.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed!! Thanks.
DeleteEagle eyes! Please be her! Also we need Jubilee and perhaps Moira MacTaggart?
DeleteReally hope so. I'd love Jubilee, maybe Captain Marvel or Spider-Woman, though, so I can have more lady Avengers. The X-Men have had some fantastic women throughout the years.
DeleteI noticed that the first time around and posted it in the Dice Masters facebook groups as being Sue. Keep an eye on there in the future for faster findings!
