The Starter Set

What better way to start off this blog than by referencing the starting point for all of the wonderful Dice Masters system - the elusive Avengers vs. X-Men starter set.

Of course, what comes in the starter set is well documented, and it's elusiveness has been pretty well covered too.

No, this is the "starter set" for this blog, an introduction of sorts to the content and other things that you can expect to see here.

Stay with me after the jump!

Here you'll find articles relating to strategy, card abilities, news, and the like. We will (ok, so it's the royal 'we', 'cause there's no one else here at present) be looking into getting a podcast going, with episodes centered around discussing a specific game-related topic for a short while, no more than 10-15 minutes per episode. I might get into videos at some point, too, as the menu bar would indicate.

Why "The Reserve Pool"? Because it was a catchy name related to this game. I have a thematic excuse, too. The reserve pool is where your dice hang out while the decisions are made and the strategy is planned. We'll certainly be talking about those decisions here.

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert at any point - just a guy with some opinions, some free time, and an interest in this game. I tend to end up in the back seat on these sorts of games - others frequently have the frame of mind to just sense those amazing combos, a gift that I sometimes lack. I think that the fun that we have with these games is more important than any of that.

I look forward to sharing with all of you! We're still getting things ready to go, so be patient. Othwerise, Until next time...

Roll on, Dice Masters!
